The love story that started from the dating app Raya, Simone Biles, and Jonathan Owens has the most adorable story. The couple met in 2020, two years after dating, and they tied the wedding knot in April 2023. They later had a wedding celebration in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
As they met on a dating app, Biles was the one who initiated the conversation by sliding into his DMs. “I saw him and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s pretty cute,’ so I said hi…” she told the Wall Street Journal.
Despite both of them being well-known athletes, Owens was not familiar with Biles at first. And that was the first thing that the Olympic gymnast liked about him. That’s what charmed Biles about the NFL star.
It was in the month of January 2022 when Biles recalled the time she was invited to lead the Texas out of the tunnel for a home team advantage in December 2019. Interestingly, Owens was also present there and can be seen in the background of Biles’ pictures.

It was also one of the few times when Simone Biles couldn’t do anything as she was going through a bad phase. Owens told Today, “So we used it to get to know each other – really get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger. Now, I’m so thankful.”
Owens also shared the exact moment he began to fall for Biles, saying, “probably about a month when we were really kind of hanging out every weekend.” It was when they started hanging out more and more with each other that he started developing the feeling to see her more. Owens also mentioned that his dog loved Biles.
The couple made it official on Instagram by sharing two sweet pictures with each other. They shared close-up snaps, where Owens was seen kissing Biles, with the caption “It’s just us.”
Due to their professional commitments, the newly married Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens had to make their relationship long-distance. Just days after their wedding, the NFL player Owens signed a new contract with the Green Bay Packers as a strong safety, and he had to move to Wisconsin.
Despite being in two different states, the couple didn’t lose their newlywed spark and continued to adjust their schedule to be with each other and also visited frequently. One such visit was when Owens had the Green Bay Packers versus Cincinnati Bengals match, and Biles went to meet and cheer for her husband in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She shared on Instagram expressing her feelings about the challenges of a long-distance relationship. She wrote, “Long distance isn’t easy, but seeing you play your heart out is so worth it.
